The Best Trout Fishing Guides in North Georgia

Tad Murdock
Introduction to Fly Fishing
Growing up in North Georgia, Tad Murdock, started out bass fishing. In High School he fished jon boat tournaments around metro Atlanta and in college had the privelege of fishing for the LSU Bass Fishing Team while earning his degree in Fisheries Biology. After a few years in Texas and Oklahoma he began fly fishing, and fell in love with the sport. The combination of finesse and applied sciences was a huge appeal to DIY fly fishing. He has learned fly fishing through friends, mentors, along with trial and error.... mostly error. Has explored just about every trout stream in North Georgia with only a few more small creeks left on the list.
Fly Fishing Adventures
Aiming to catch every species of salmonid (trout, salmon, char, and taimen) around the world. Tad prefers guiding fly fishing adventures to trout fishing for himself here in North Georgia.

Jason Duncan

Introduction to Fly Fishing
Jason picked up his passion for fly fishing in North Georgia on his own. He battled through the tough learning curve on his own, picking up the occasional tip from fellow anglers kind enough to offer advice. Now Jason looks to pay it forward in teaching the next generation of fly anglers. He continues to learn new tricks and tactics on each visit to the stream. Jason just about lives on the water every weekend where you can find him exploring new streams or teaching and showing newcomers Georgia's best trout fishing.
Georgia Fly Fishing Adventures
Jason enjoys visiting every corner of North Georgia looking for the best trout fishing. Whether it be fly fishing in Blue Ridge, Daholonega, Blairsville, Ellijay, or Clayton, he doesn't want to leave a single stream untouched looking for the best trophy trout and wild trout waters.

Andrew Seitz
Introduction to Fly Fishing
Growing up on the Toccoa River, it's hard not to get into fly fishing. For Andrew it was more than just a right of passage. It's an obsession which he has no plans of getting rid of. He enjoys the challenges brought to him as a guide and the clients he is coaching. It's tough to get him off the water until all of his clients have caught their trophy trout for the day. Chasing native brook trout, throwing streamers for big brown trout, or finessing rainbow trout on a dry fly are all in Andrew's wheelhouse.
Fly Fishing Excursions
Andrew chases trophy fish whenever he can. He has been trophy hunting for smallies and northern pike in Canada, flats fishing for redfish and snook on the fly in Sarasota Florida, as well as monster trout out west.
Alex Bestermann
Introduction to Fly Fishing
Alex is another fellow bass fisherman turned North Georgia Fly Fishing Guide. While fishing on his high school bass fishing team, Alex started exploring some of Georgia's best trout streams and learning the art of fly angling. Now, attending UNG and living in Dahlonega, he has excellent trout fishing in his back yard. After growing up on the bigger water of the Chattahoochee River below Buford Dam, he has quickly picked up the essential techniques used on the smaller creeks in Southern Appalachia. Dry fly fishing is his preferred specialty and loves teaching new anglers how to stalk big trout.
Fly Fishing Experience
Alex enjoys targeting all species of fish on the fly wherever he can find them. He doesn't pass up on any opportunities to get his line wet and enjoys all fly fishing in North America. Lakes, rivers, freshwater, or salt, no fish is safe.
