Ellijay Trout Fishing Guide
Ellijay is a growing community in the North Georgia Mountains for both tourism and vacation getaways. The areas around Ellijay and Jasper offer different activities throughout the seasons. Fall brings visitors to the popular apple orchards and other harvest festivals. Trout fishing seams to be a side thought when enjoying the beautiful color change of the Southern Appalachia. Winter and spring are the best times to hit the trout streams closer to Ellijay as the lower elevation causes these streams to warm considerably in the summer. Visitors in the summer enjoy the many surrounding wineries, floating the Cartecay on intertubes, and trout fishing further north in the higher elevation trout streams northeast of town. Learn more about which creeks and streams are stocked or have populations of wild trout in our Ellijay Fly Fishing Guide article.
